Is this a new diet fad you may ask?
Well, the answer is no. In fact these are real food which are "super" for your health because they contain a high concentration of nutrients that help build bones, prevent chronic diseases, improve your eyesight, and even keep your mind sharp. What's more, there is evidence which suggests that Superfoods can also help you to lose weight and keep it off.
So what are Superfoods?
Have you heard of Hemp Oil, Chia Seeds, Goji Berries, Bee Pollen, Maca, Spirulina, the list is endless ...The great thing about them, is that you don't have to drastically change the way you eat (unless you have a really unhealthy, acidic diet? more about this in another Blog!) instead you will introduce them to your everyday diet by combining them in different ways and/or creating some AWESOME Super Smoothies!
Don't be put off by the strange look, exotic flavours or even by the unfamiliar names. If you are nervous about trying new things but determined to get healthy, strong and fit, then my advice would be to start with one ingredient and then slowly build up your list. If you are the more adventurous type then, I would definitely recommend you start with smoothies to create a powerful and delicious drink .
The list is endless and there are many ways to have Superfoods. They can be eaten raw (not cooked), which is a favourite as this will keep all their amazing nutrients. As previously mentioned as an energy smoothie boost, wonderful of you are on a detox, as it will feel energetic because of the needed nutrients introduced to your body. (More about Detoxing in another Blog).
In my next Blog I will talk about about individual Superfoods and their properties, so stay tuned ...
